Achievments For ResumeWhen it comes to a well-rounded resume, the accomplishments section is one of the most important components. This section of your resume tells employers what they should be looking for when they read your resume. Having a list of accomplishments that relate to your career goals will help make the entire section stand out and make it seem as though you have accomplished your goals before applying for a job.Many small or big companies use this type of information in their own resume hiring process. When deciding what to include in the accomplishments section, try to put everything that relates to what your career goals are. Don't overdo it, or it will seem too forced and there will be little chance of employers seeing it.Be sure to focus on accomplishments that were personal and were achieved by you and not an organization. Don't forget to list individual achievements that relate to each career path you may be pursuing. Focus on your skills, the tools and resource s you used and any help that you received from others in your work environment. For example, you might list the following achievements:If you worked for a government agency, it is good to list all your top accomplishments in this section. For example, if you worked in the Pentagon, it would be good to list the awards and ribbons you earned for work you did on behalf of the military. Or, if you worked in a school system that is part of the Department of Education, it would be good to list all the certifications, honors and awards you earned in order to show that you were an exceptional employee.Finally, be sure to list all your affiliations with professional associations. Try to list the ones that were most relevant to your career goals. For example, if you wanted to be a teacher, you might list those associations that were related to teaching careers.Make sure to list every section of your accomplishments for resume with only your last name included in the section. A name that is co nfusing will not contribute to your career goals. Also, don't list your last name in the section that describes your area of expertise.List the dates of each accomplishment and how long it took to accomplish the goal. Don't leave this section blank, or it will appear as though you never accomplished your goal. Many people leave the dates off their accomplishments because they believe it will sound like bragging, but leaving it blank will portray professionalism.Be honest about your past accomplishments. Even if you left out an accomplishment or your accomplishments for resume was not up to par, tell the truth about why you failed and why you worked so hard. It is not necessary to leave this section blank, but if you do, be sure to tell the employer why you left the achievement off.

4 Tips for Smarter Working Being able to work more efficiently is a critical element of any career. Whether you are working to a tight deadline on a project or you are finding that you don’t have enough time to get all of your tasks completed, you can feel overwhelmed. When you feel overwhelmed, your productivity levels drop significantly and you will find yourself wasting time worrying about the tasks that lie ahead. Here are a few simple tips that you can try to make your day a whole lot more productive: Stay positive and focused â€" Productivity relies heavily on having a healthy mindset. If you start the day off being worried about not having enough time, these thoughts will eat away at you throughout the day. You need to channel all of your efforts into the one task that you need to complete most urgently. Trying to multitask can seem like a good solution to your problems but it can sometimes add to the issues. If you are spreading your concentration around different tasks, every task will take much longer.  Track your time â€" An important element of time management is understanding where your time is going. You may have an idea of what you are spending time on.  But you need to analyze it in more detail to make improvements. You can use apps such as Toggl or RescueTime to track what you are spending time on. When you have a better idea of where your time is going, then you can work on solutions to get the task done quicker, such as using automation technology or outsourcing some tasks. Practice productivity techniques Have you ever heard of the Pomodoro Technique? It is a powerful yet very simple way to use your time more productively. It works on the principle of having your work segmented into 25 minute intervals. You set yourself a target of work and time yourself for 25 minutes to get the work completed. You can use your stopwatch on your phone to time yourself. What you will find is that you are less likely to go off track and be distracted by things like emails, text messages or other types of distractions. After 25 minutes, you have a quick break and then start your next 25 minute segment of work. Use apps and online tools â€" Make the most of the technology that you have at your fingertips. If you need to keep track of your finances, download an app like Wave. You can view all your financial information in one place, from your equipment financing deals with LendGenius, to any outstanding invoices that you are waiting on. Never Giving Up - The Power of a Mothers Will to Change a Life As a mother of an 18-year-old daughter in college and a 15-year old son, I’ve experienced during the course of my parenting life the sheer terror and pain of watching my beloved children suffer yet remaining helpless to assist them.     Almost every mother I know has experienced the trauma of this, and many thousands of men and women who aren’t parents but have had children and young adults in their charge know what this feels like â€" to reach the point of complete desperation and despair because you’re powerless to ease the suffering of the one you love so dearly. My friend Lynne Marino â€" a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch shared just such an experience about her youngest son, Robert.   But her story has a silver lining one of courage, persistence and unflagging commitment to trust what she knew to be true, and find new ways to help her son, despite what the medical community wrote off as incurable.   I’d like to share Lynne’s story, as inspiration for all of us who know better than the “experts” on what our bodies need, and who will not give up the fight to find new ways to help the ones we love. Lynne’s story: “In August 2010, our youngest son, Robert, suffered his second third sports-related concussion. This one really rattled him. His high school football coach called us on a damp and rainy Saturday to instruct us to meet the ambulance at the hospital.At first, we kept him home from school, but boredom got the better of him and we had a hard time keeping him from attending school.Being denied sports until hockey season, Robert seemed to be doing okay.   He was released from the doctors care briefly when hockey season started. Two months into the season Robert was truly suffering.   He couldnt focus on his schoolwork and had limited ability to prioritize his time.   We returned to the neurologist who specialized in sports related Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). He diagnosed Robert as having acquired ADHD, as a result of his concussion.As instructed, we began a series of ADHD medications. Robert hated how he felt.Its such torture to see your child suffer and feel powerless to help. I kep t talking with other parents and was soon referred to Dr.  Tepley, a Neuropsychologist. He performed a battery of tests on Robert and ultimately diagnosed him as having a brain shear, which severed a portion of connections in his brain. Armed with this diagnosis, we implemented a plan for Robert at the high school, allowing him extra time to complete tests and assignments.   Throughout this period, Robert continued to try different medications, but nothing helped. After Robert had completed his 1st semester of his senior year, I still wasnt satisfied that wed done everything we could do for him.   Id heard about a therapy called Neurofeedback.   We attended an information session with 50 adults most of whom suffered from TBIs due to accidents or war related injuries or ADD/ADHD. Robert was willing to try anything to get off the meds, that were wreaking havoc on his body and his mind. In a nutshell, it was a miracle. In 90 days Robert was cured.   Neurofeedback (also called Neurotherapy or EEG Biofeedback) takes a measurement of your brain creating a baseline brain map. Once this is done, the therapist can identify the area of the brain that needs attention. The patient is connected with leads from the part of the brain needing attention to a box that runs a video game (yes, a video game).   The object of the game is to have your brain make a car on a racetrack go as fast as possible.   This exercises the part of the brain and repairs the damaged section.   Robert did the video game for 30 minutes each day.   Once a week, wed see the therapist whod download Roberts homework and modify the game to make his brain work harder. After 90 days, he performed another brain map. The section of the brain that had been angry looking and red, was now a calm blue-green.   He declared Robert cured   just prior to his high school graduation. Robert went off to college this past fall.   He still had extra time on file with the college, but he has yet to need it.   His last semester he did well in school and he is completely drug free and back to his old self. This experience enriched our lives because it taught us to: Keep asking for what we need Be relentless MDs and our health systems arent focused on alternative therapies, and often don’t listen to what we know to be true about ourselves Be your own best advocate doctors and teachers are not the ones who know you best. Seek support from your friends and loved ones.  Don’t face this alone.” *   *   *   *   *   * Lynne’s story reminds us that in parenting, as in life, we must remain vigilant and relentless in our pursuit to do what’s necessary to live our lives as we long to fully, joyfully and healthfully and to find the right kind of empowering support that will help us be all we wish to this world.
